Endurance Racing
2-3 Races TargetedThe 1984 Nissan 300ZX Turbo build is in progress with the goal of entering 2-3 endurance races in the 2026 season. We're looking at ChampCar and other endurance series to find the right events. The turbo Z31 platform is being built for overall competitiveness — not just class wins.
The 1988 BMW 325i remains race-ready as a backup or second entry.
ChampCar 24 Hours at VIR
15th Overall / 3rd in Class
Car: 1988 BMW 325i Spec E30
Class: EC (Exhibition/Classic)
Field: 70 cars
This was the team's first entry under the Vaughan Motorsports banner. The E30 hadn't turned a wheel in six years before the decision was made to enter. The team worked nights and weekends to get the car prepped — stripping weight and focusing on reliability over outright speed.
The car wasn't purpose-built for the ChampCar ruleset, but it performed well above expectations. Finishing 15th overall and 3rd in EC class out of a 70-car field in a 24-hour race was a strong statement for a late entry on a shoestring prep schedule.

Guest DriverA guest drive on a friend's team at the VIR 24-hour race. This was the re-entry into competitive racing after a multi-year break. The experience reignited the fire — the decision was made that weekend to bring their own car to VIR in 2024.
NASA Southeast Spec E30
Multiple EventsCar: 1988 BMW 325i
The 325i was built from 2015 to 2016 and raced in NASA Southeast Spec E30 events for approximately two years. Spec E30 is a tightly regulated class designed to keep competition close and costs manageable — the perfect proving ground for a new team.
This period was foundational: learning race craft, understanding car preparation, and building the skills that would later translate to endurance racing.
Go-Kart Racing
Like a lot of racers, it started with go-karts — developing the competitive instinct and mechanical aptitude that would eventually lead to building and racing full-size cars.
